Oxford Wolverines (Oxford, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT), 15-11 in a non-league challenge.

The Wolverines now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kennedy for a Naugatuck Valley - Brass challenge on Monday, April 8. Oxford will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 22-0 league loss to St. Paul Catholic (Bristol, CT). The Eagles record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Pomperaug falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Brookfield (Brookfield, CT) to battle the Bobcats in a Southwest - Colonial challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 1-0.
