The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the Simley Spartans (Inver Grove Heights, MN) and the host Pine Island Panthers (Pine Island, MN), saw Simley's softball squad achieve victory over Pine Island by a count of 15-5.
The Spartans now sport a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they host Denfeld for a non-league match on Saturday, April 6.
With the loss, Pine Island falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Goodhue (Goodhue, MN) to face the Wildcats in a Hiawatha Valley match on Tuesday, April 9. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 0-1.
