The Providence Catholic Celtics (New Lenox, IL) softball routed the visiting Plainfield South Cougars (Plainfield, IL), 6-1 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Celtics (3-2) will now prepare for their bout against St. Laurence (Burbank, IL). The Vikings go into the GCAC- Red bout with a 3-1 record.

The Cougars now hold a 1-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Naperville North for a non-league contest on Saturday, April 6. Plainfield South will play a Huskies team coming off a 6-3 non-league win over Oswego (Oswego, IL). The Huskies record now stands at 2-5.
