In Saturday's non-league game, the host Hays Hawks baseball team scored a close 10-6 win over the McCallum Knights.

The Hawks (15-6) will now prepare for their game against Glenn (Leander, TX). The Grizzlies go into the 5A Region IV District 25 game with a 5-10 record. In their last game, Glenn nudged Liberty Hill (Liberty Hill, TX), 4-2, in a league game.

Next, the Knights play the Cedar Creek Eagles (Cedar Creek, TX) in a game, on Tuesday, April 8. McCallum will attempt to improve on its 10-11 season record. The Eagles go into the game with a 9-11 record after their 14-6 league win over Navarro (Austin, TX).
