Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) fans were thrilled Wednesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Governors confront the Altavista Colonels (Altavista, VA) in a Dogwood challenge, on Wednesday, April 20. Nelson County will attempt to better on its 5-1 season record. The Colonels enter the challenge with a 0-6 record after their 12-0 non-league loss to Brookville (Lynchburg, VA).

The Lancers now have a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host Rustburg for a Seminole challenge on Thursday, April 7. Amherst County will confront a Devils team coming off a 7-0 league loss to Liberty (Bedford, VA). The Devils record now stands at 2-5.
