Central Bobcats (Phoenix, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ), 13-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Bobcats now own a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they host Metro Tech for a 5A Metro challenge on Thursday, April 7. Central will face a Knights squad coming off a 22-11 league loss to Carl Hayden Community (Phoenix, AZ). The Knights record now stands at 0-14.

With the loss, Independence falls to 1-9 on the campaign. The Patriots host Fairfax (Laveen, AZ) to face the Stampede in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 7. The Stampede enter the challenge with a record of 8-9. Fairfax won 14-3 in their recent league challenge against Sierra Linda (Phoenix, AZ)
