Providence Grove Patriots (Franklinville, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host East Davidson Golden Eagles (Thomasville, NC), 5-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 14-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Trinity for a Piedmont Athletic 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, April 19. Providence Grove will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 17-0 league loss to Southwestern Randolph (Asheboro, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-12.

With the loss, East Davidson falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Golden eagles host Lexington (Lexington, NC) to face the Yellowjackets in a Central Carolina 1A/2A challenge on Friday, April 8. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 0-6. Lexington lost 14-10 in their recent league challenge against Thomasville (Thomasville, NC)
