In Thursday's non-league game, the host St. Joseph Bears baseball team scored a tight 7-6 victory over the Bridgman Bees.

The Bears (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Niles (Niles, MI). The Vikings go into the Southwestern Michigan - West game with a 2-0 record. In their last game, Niles tipped Buchanan (Buchanan, MI), 6-3, in a non-league contest.
