In Thursday's non-league contest, the Laguna Creek Cardinals (Elk Grove, CA) softball team held off the visiting Elk Grove Thundering Herd (Elk Grove, CA), by a margin of 16-15.

With the triumph, Laguna Creek moves its record to 3-1 on the year. The Cardinals host Kennedy (Sacramento, CA) to play the Cougars in a contest on Wednesday, April 12.
