Southeast of Saline Trojans (Gypsum, KS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Abilene Cowboys (Abilene, KS), 8-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Trojans now sport a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Chapman for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 14.

With the loss, Abilene falls to 3-1 on the campaign. The Cowboys travel to Marysville (Marysville, KS) to face the Bulldogs in a North Central Kansas challenge on Tuesday, April 11. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 1-7. Marysville lost 8-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Chapman (Chapman, KS)
