Hawthorne Hornets (Hawthorne, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Cedar Key Sharks (Cedar Key, FL), 16-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 10-4 record. They take the field next when they host Dixie County for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 10. Hawthorne will face a Bears squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Branford (Branford, FL). The Bears record now stands at 11-5.

With the loss, Cedar Key falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Sharks host Meadowbrook Academy (Ocala, FL) to face the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 13. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 2-6.
