Paramus Catholic Paladins (Paramus, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Clifton Mustangs (Clifton, NJ), 19-14 in a league challenge.

The Paladins now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Kearny for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 8. Paramus Catholic will battle a Kardinals squad coming off a 22-19 league loss to Union City (Union City, NJ). The Kardinals record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Clifton falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Eastside (Paterson, NJ) to battle the Ghosts in a Big North challenge on Monday, April 10. The Ghosts enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Eastside lost 17-1 in their recent league challenge against DePaul Catholic (Wayne, NJ)
