Hudson Catholic Hawks (Jersey City, NJ) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Nutley Maroon Raiders (Nutley, NJ), 9-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now sport a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they host Fair Lawn for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 8. Hudson Catholic will face a Cutters squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Northern Highlands (Allendale, NJ). The Cutters record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Nutley falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Maroon raiders travel to Cedar Grove (Cedar Grove, NJ) to face the Panthers in a Super Essex challenge on Saturday, April 8. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Cedar Grove lost 9-4 in their recent league challenge against Mount St. Dominic Academy (Caldwell, NJ)
