The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Macomb Bombers (Macomb, IL) and the host Knoxville Blue Bullets (Knoxville, IL), saw Macomb's softball squad nip Knoxville by a count of 4-2.

The Bombers now sport a 9-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bushnell-Prairie City for a match on Monday, April 10. Macomb will face a Spartans squad coming off a 9-8 non-league win over Seymour (Payson, IL). The Spartans record now stands at 2-5.

With the loss, Knoxville falls to 5-1 on the campaign. The Blue bullets host Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] (Woodhull, IL) to clash with the Spartans in a Lincoln Trail test on Saturday, April 8. The Spartans come into the test with a record of 3-1. Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] won 16-2 in their recent non-league test against Monmouth-Roseville (Monmouth, IL)
