The Franklin Lions baseball team scored 16 runs and limited the host Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls to 5 in the Lions non-league victory on Saturday.
The Lions (17-3) will now prepare for their match against Groesbeck (Groesbeck, TX). The Goats go into the 3A Region III District 20 match with a 11-10 record. In their last match, Groesbeck was overwhelmed by Westwood (Palestine, TX), 8-6, in a league match.
The Fighting Owls (15-7) will now prepare for their match against Trinity (Trinity, TX). The Tigers go into the 3A Region III District 23 match with a 1-18 record. In their last match, Trinity was overwhelmed by Coldspring-Oakhurst (Coldspring, TX), 22-4, in a league match.
