Springfield Senators (Springfield, IL) supporters were pleased Saturday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Athens/PORTA Warriors (Athens, IL), 7-0 in a non-league test.

The Senators now sport a 6-2 record. They play next when they host Decatur Eisenhower for a Central State Eight test on Tuesday, April 9. Springfield will meet a Panthers squad coming off a 3-3 non-league Meridian/Sangamon Valley (Macon, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 0-4.

With the loss, Athens/PORTA drops to 7-1 on the season. The Warriors host Williamsville (Williamsville, IL) to meet the Bullets in a Sangamo test on Tuesday, April 9. The Bullets come into the test with a record of 10-2. Williamsville won 7-0 in their recent non-league test against Carlinville (Carlinville, IL)
