Bonita Bearcats (La Verne, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Capistrano Valley Cougars (Mission Viejo, CA), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Bearcats now own a 17-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Glendora for a Palomares challenge on Wednesday, April 10. Bonita will battle a Tartans squad coming off a 6-5 non-league loss to Mark Keppel (Alhambra, CA). The Tartans record now stands at 5-11.

With the loss, Capistrano Valley falls to 14-4 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to El Toro (Lake Forest, CA) to battle the Chargers in a Sea View challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Chargers enter the challenge with a record of 12-5. El Toro won 9-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Capistrano Valley Christian (San Juan Capistrano, CA)
