Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA) and the visiting Broadway Gobblers (Broadway, VA), witnessed Halifax County's softball squad tip Broadway by a count of 8-7.

The Comets now sport a 7-1 record. They play next when they host Appomattox County for a non-league match on Saturday, April 6. Halifax County will meet a Raiders squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Altavista (Altavista, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Broadway moves to 5-1 on the season. The Gobblers travel to Brookville (Lynchburg, VA) to meet the Bees in a non-league match on Saturday, April 6. The Bees go into the match with a record of 5-3. Brookville lost 5-4 in their recent league match against Liberty (Bedford, VA)
