Evanston Wildkits (Evanston, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Ridgewood Rebels (Norridge, IL), 13-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildkits now own a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they host Saint Viator for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 8. Evanston will battle a Lions squad coming off a 16-6 league loss to Nazareth Academy (LaGrange Park, IL). The Lions record now stands at 1-9.

With the loss, Ridgewood falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Carmel (Mundelein, IL) to battle the Corsairs in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 8. The Corsairs enter the challenge with a record of 2-4. Carmel won 13-8 in their recent league challenge against Marian Catholic (Chicago Heights, IL)
