Freedom Patriots (Bethlehem, PA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Pottsville Crimson Tide (Pottsville, PA), 13-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bethlehem Catholic for a Eastern Pennsylvania Conference challenge on Monday, April 8. Freedom will face a Hawks squad coming off a 7-3 league win over Whitehall (Whitehall, PA). The Hawks record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Pottsville falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Crimson tide travel to Our Lady of Lourdes Regional (Coal Township, PA) to face the Red Raiders in a Schuylkill I challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Red Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 2-2. Our Lady of Lourdes Regional lost 15-0 in their recent league challenge against Blue Mountain (Schuylkill Haven, PA)
