Richmond-Burton Rockets (Richmond, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Grant Community Bulldogs (Fox Lake, IL), 7-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Rockets now sport a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they host Woodstock for a Kishwaukee River challenge on Monday, April 8. Richmond-Burton will face a Blue Streaks squad coming off a 13-0 non-league loss to Genoa-Kingston (Genoa, IL). The Blue Streaks record now stands at 0-4.

With the loss, Grant Community falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Grayslake North (Grayslake, IL) to face the Knights in a Northern Lake County challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. Grayslake North lost 5-4 in their recent league challenge against Grayslake Central (Grayslake, IL)
