Wausau East Lumberjacks (Wausau, WI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Marathon Red Raiders (Marathon, WI), 20-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Lumberjacks now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln for a Wisconsin Valley challenge on Tuesday, April 9.

With the loss, Marathon falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Red raiders travel to Edgar (Edgar, WI) to battle the Wildcats in a Marawood - South challenge on Friday, April 12. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 0-2.
