Ponchatoula Green Wave (Ponchatoula, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Pope John Paul II Jaguars (Slidell, LA), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Green Wave now own a 21-7 record. They take the field next when they host De La Salle for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 6. Ponchatoula will battle a Cavalier squad coming off a 9-7 non-league win over Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy (Avondale, LA). The Cavalier record now stands at 10-10.

With the loss, Pope John Paul II falls to 15-13 on the campaign. The Jaguars host Vancleave (Vancleave, MS) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 6. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 10-9. Vancleave lost 5-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Northshore (Slidell, LA)
