Prairie Central Hawks (Fairbury, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting St. Thomas More Sabers (Champaign, IL), 19-1 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bloomington Central Catholic for a Illini Prairie challenge on Monday, April 11. Prairie Central will face a Saints squad coming off a 12-4 non-league loss to Tremont (Tremont, IL). The Saints record now stands at 6-4.

With the loss, St. Thomas More falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Sabers travel to Monticello (Monticello, IL) to face the Sages in a Illini Prairie challenge on Monday, April 11. The Sages enter the challenge with a record of 4-5. Monticello lost 6-1 in their recent league challenge against Illinois Valley Central (Chillicothe, IL)
