In Friday's non-league game, the host Gibson County Pioneers baseball team scored a tight 7-5 victory over the Scotts Hill Lions.

The Pioneers (8-5) will now prepare for their contest against Westview (Martin, TN). The Chargers enter the 2A District 12 contest with a 3-9 record. In their last contest, Westview by McKenzie (McKenzie, TN), 8-1, in a non-league contest.

The Lions now sport a 9-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Adamsville for a 2A District 13 contest on Monday, April 10. Scotts Hill will play a Cardinals squad coming off a 11-5 non-league win over McNairy Central (Selmer, TN). The Cardinals record now stands at 8-3.
