Chesapeake Panthers (Chesapeake, OH) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Wayne Pioneers (Wayne, WV), 10-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now sport a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fairland for a Ohio Valley challenge on Monday, April 10. Chesapeake will face a Dragons squad coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Meigs (Pomeroy, OH). The Dragons record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, Wayne falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Pioneers host Chapmanville Regional (Chapmanville, WV) to face the Tigers in a Cardinal challenge on Saturday, April 8. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 4-2. Chapmanville Regional lost 5-0 in their recent league challenge against Logan (Logan, WV)
