Immaculata Spartans (Somerville, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Sunday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Ridge Red Devil (Basking Ridge, NJ), 8-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Watchung Hills Regional for a Skyland - Delaware challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Immaculata will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 5-0 non-league win over Livingston (Livingston, NJ). The Warriors record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, Ridge falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Red devil host The Pingry School (Martinsville, NJ) to battle the Big Blue in a Skyland - Raritan challenge on Monday, April 8. The Big Blue enter the challenge with a record of 1-1.
