In Monday's non-league game, the host Alton Redbirds baseball team scored a close 2-0 win over the Roxana Shells.

The Redbirds (7-2) will now prepare for their game against East St. Louis (East St. Louis, IL). The Flyers go into the Southwestern game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, East St. Louis nudged Cardinal Ritter College Prep (St. Louis, MO), 17-16, in a non-league game.

Next, the Shells play the East Alton-Wood River Oilers (Wood River, IL) in a game, on Tuesday, April 8. Roxana will attempt to improve on its 7-2 season record. The Oilers go into the game with a 4-6 record after their 10-0 non-league loss to Jersey (Jerseyville, IL).
