In Monday's non-league game, the visiting DeQuincy Tigers baseball team scored a close 7-2 win over the Hornbeck Hornets.

The Tigers (23-10) will now prepare for their game against Vinton (Vinton, LA). The Lions go into the 2A District 4 game with a 14-8 record. In their last game, Vinton was overwhelmed by Rosepine (Rosepine, LA), 9-0, in a league game.

Next, the Hornets play the Avoyelles Mustangs (Moreauville, LA) in a non-league game, on Thursday, April 10. Hornbeck will attempt to improve on its 10-9 season record. The Mustangs go into the game with a 13-16 record after their 15-0 non-league loss to Teurlings Catholic (Lafayette, LA).
