Illinois High School Baseball - Eureka defeats Delavan

April 7, 2026: Eureka, IL 61530

The Eureka Hornets baseball team scored 9 runs and held the visiting Delavan Panthers to 2 in the Hornets non-league win on Tuesday.

The Hornets now hold a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they host Ridgeview for a Heart of Illinois test on Wednesday, April 8. Eureka will play a Mustangs team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Deer Creek-Mackinaw (Mackinaw, IL). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-3.

With the defeat, Delavan drops to 0-5 on the year. The Panthers travel to Mt. Pulaski (Mt. Pulaski, IL) to play the Hilltoppers in a Tomahawk test on Thursday, April 9. The Hilltoppers go into the test with a record of 4-2. Mt. Pulaski won 6-4 in their recent non-league test against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond (Arthur, IL)
