In Tuesday's non-league match, the host Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish softball team scored a tight 3-1 win over the Buffalo Bison.
The Fighting Irish (10-4) will now prepare for their match against Forsyth (Forsyth, MO). The Panthers come into the Class 2 District 5 match with a 4-13 record. In their last match, Forsyth by Fair Grove (Fair Grove, MO), 9-0, in a non-league match.
