In Friday's non-league game, the visiting L.W. Higgins Hurricanes baseball team scored a tight 14-10 victory over the Benjamin Franklin Falcons.
The Hurricanes (6-7) will now prepare for their game against Chalmette (Chalmette, LA). The Owls go into the 5A District 8 game with a 15-5 record. In their last game, Chalmette tipped Archbishop Shaw (Marrero, LA), 11-0, in a non-league game.
The Falcons (4-6) will now prepare for their game against Eleanor McMain (New Orleans, LA). The Mustangs go into the 4A District 11 game with a 0-2 record. In their last game, Eleanor McMain was overwhelmed by Frederick A. Douglass (New Orleans, LA), 17-4, in a non-league game.
