Independence Eagles (Thompson's Station, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Father Ryan Fightin' Irish (Nashville, TN), 13-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Boyd-Buchanan for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 9. Independence will battle a Buccaneers squad coming off a 15-2 league win over Notre Dame (Chattanooga, TN). The Buccaneers record now stands at 3-4.

With the loss, Father Ryan falls to 5-7 on the campaign. The Fightin' irish travel to Lincoln County (Fayetteville, TN) to battle the Falcons in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 9. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 10-8. Lincoln County lost 7-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Forrest (Chapel Hill, TN)
