In Saturday's non-league game, the visiting Lovington Wildcats baseball team scored a tight 16-13 victory over the Jal Panthers.
The Wildcats (8-9) will now prepare for their game against Goddard (Roswell, NM). The Rockets go into the 4A District 4 game with a 10-7 record. In their last game, Goddard by Roswell (Roswell, NM), 9-8, in a non-league game.
The Panthers (4-14) will now prepare for their game against Eunice (Eunice, NM). The Cardinals go into the 2A District 4 game with a 8-5 record. In their last game, Eunice by El Paso Leadership Academy East (El Paso, TX), 10-0, in a non-league game.
