In Saturday's non-league game, the host Jersey Panthers baseball team scored a tight 9-3 victory over the Springfield Southeast Spartans.
The Panthers (7-6) will now prepare for their game against Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL). The Eagles go into the Mississippi Valley game with a 6-5 record. In their last game, Civic Memorial tipped Staunton (Staunton, IL), 14-8, in a non-league game.
The Spartans (7-3) will now prepare for their game against Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains, IL). The Cardinals go into the non-league game with a 8-2 record. In their last game, Pleasant Plains was overwhelmed by North Greene (White Hall, IL), 6-5, in a non-league game.
