Glenbrook North Spartans (Northbrook, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Vernon Hills Cougars (Vernon Hills, IL), 13-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Libertyville for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 26.

With the loss, Vernon Hills falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Cougars host Niles West (Skokie, IL) to face the Wolves in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 10. The Wolves enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Niles West lost 19-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Lane Tech (Chicago, IL)
