Champion Golden Flashes (Warren, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hoover Vikings (North Canton, OH), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Golden Flashes now own a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Garfield for a Mahoning Valley Athletic - Grey challenge on Monday, April 10. Champion will face a G-Men squad coming off a 21-3 non-league loss to Springfield (Akron, OH). The G-Men record now stands at 4-2.

With the loss, Hoover falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Vikings host Jackson (Massillon, OH) to face the Polar Bears in a Federal challenge on Tuesday, April 11. The Polar Bears enter the challenge with a record of 4-2. Jackson won 15-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Hudson (Hudson, OH)
