Marquette Defenders (Bellevue, IA) fans were pleased Monday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Monticello Panthers (Monticello, IA), 5-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Defenders confront the Wahlert Golden Eagles (Dubuque, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, April 12. Marquette will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record.

The Panthers now have a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they host Mid-Prairie for a River Valley challenge on Tuesday, April 9.
