Bonita Vista Barons (Chula Vista, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting El Capitan Vaqueros (Lakeside, CA), 16-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Barons now own a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they host Rancho Buena Vista for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 11. Bonita Vista will face a Longhorns squad coming off a 11-9 non-league loss to Classical Academy (Escondido, CA). The Longhorns record now stands at 1-7.

With the loss, El Capitan falls to 8-2 on the campaign. The Vaqueros host Santana (Santee, CA) to face the Sultans in a challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Sultans enter the challenge with a record of 15-1. Santana won 14-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Mater Dei Catholic (Chula Vista, CA)
