The Columbia Eagles (Columbia, IL) softball routed the visiting New Athens Yellow Jackets (New Athens, IL), 18-0 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Eagles (10-4) will now prepare for their bout against Roxana (Roxana, IL). The Shells go into the Cahokia - Mississippi challenge with a 7-2 record. In their last challenge, Roxana beat Southwestern (Piasa, IL), 19-16, in a non-league challenge.

With the loss, New Athens falls to 4-12 on the campaign. The Yellow jackets travel to Marissa/Coulterville (Marissa, IL) to battle the Meteors in a Cahokia - Kaskaskia challenge on Thursday, April 11. The Meteors enter the challenge with a record of 8-5. Marissa/Coulterville won 11-8 in their recent league challenge against Steeleville (Steeleville, IL)
