In Monday's non-league contest, the Northeast Jones Tigers (Laurel, MS) softball team overwhelmed the host Southeast Lauderdale Tigers (Meridian, MS), by a margin of 22-8.
With the triumph, Northeast Jones moves its record to 14-3 on the year. The Tigers travel to Forest (Forest, MS) to play the Bearcats in a 4A Region 5 contest on Tuesday, April 9. The Bearcats come into the contest with a record of 6-7. Forest lost 17-2 in their recent league contest against Quitman (Quitman, MS)
In their next game, the Tigers play the Quitman Panthers (Quitman, MS) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, April 9. Southeast Lauderdale will attempt to move on its 10-13 season record. The Panthers come into the contest with a 2-14 record after their 17-2 league win over Forest (Forest, MS).
