In Tuesday's league test, the Mitchell Kernels (Mitchell, SD) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting Pierre T.F. Riggs Governors (Pierre, SD), by a tally of 9-4.
Next, the Kernels clash with the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles (Aberdeen, SD) in a Class AA test, on Thursday, April 10. Mitchell will attempt to advance on its 1-2 season record. The Golden Eagles go into the test with a 0-1 record after their 17-2 league loss to Yankton (Yankton, SD).
The Governors (0-1) will now prepare for their test against Yankton (Yankton, SD). The Bucks/Gazelles go into the Class AA test with a 1-2 record. In their last test, Yankton held off Aberdeen Central (Aberdeen, SD), 17-2, in a league test.
