New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Choctaw County Chargers (Ackerman, MS), 3-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, New Hope upgrades its record to 14-1 on the season. The Trojans travel to West Point (West Point, MS) to battle the Green Wave in a 5A Region 2 test on Tuesday, April 12. The Green Wave come into the test with a record of 8-9.

With the defeat, Choctaw County falls to 10-5 on the season. The Chargers travel to Nanih Waiya (Louisville, MS) to battle the Warriors in a 2A Region 4 test on Tuesday, April 12. The Warriors come into the test with a record of 9-9. Nanih Waiya lost 10-0 in their recent non-league test against Lake (Lake, MS)
