Midlothian Panthers (Midlothian, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting College Station Cougars (College Station, TX), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bryan for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 9. Midlothian will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 6-2 league win over Shoemaker (Killeen, TX). The Vikings record now stands at 15-9.

With the loss, College Station falls to 11-12 on the campaign. The Cougars host Jordan (Fulshear, TX) to battle the Warriors in a 5A Region III District 19 challenge on Thursday, April 14. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 6-17. Jordan lost 11-0 in their recent league challenge against Brenham (Brenham, TX)
