Sullivan Redskins (Sullivan, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Dieterich Movin Maroons (Dieterich, IL), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Redskins now own a 8-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Central A & M for a Central Illinois challenge on Tuesday, April 12. Sullivan will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Edinburg/South Fork (Kincaid, IL). The Raiders record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Dieterich falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Movin maroons host Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City (Cowden, IL) to battle the Bobcats in a Egyptian Illini challenge on Saturday, April 9. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 0-4. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City lost 15-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Okaw Valley (Bethany, IL)
