The Jefferson Bears routed the visiting Melvindale Cardinals softball squad by a count of 12-2 in Saturday's league battle.

The Bears (2-0) will now prepare for their battle against Airport (Carleton, MI). The Jets go into the Huron battle with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, Airport topped Erie-Mason (Erie, MI), 8-2, in a league battle.

The Cardinals now sport a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Thurston for a Western Wayne battle on Monday, April 11.
