Cape Henlopen Vikings (Lewes, DE) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Indian River Indians (Dagsboro, DE), 8-7 in a non-league challenge.
The Vikings now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Caesar Rodney for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 10.
With the loss, Indian River falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Indians host Sussex Central (Georgetown, DE) to battle the Golden Knights in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Golden Knights enter the challenge with a record of 1-0.
