The Gillespie Miners softball team scored 17 runs and limited the visiting Vandalia Vandals to 1 in the Miners league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Gillespie moves its record to 11-3 on the year. The Miners host Dupo (Dupo, IL) to clash with the Tigers in a non-league game on Wednesday, April 10. The Tigers come into the game with a record of 1-6. Dupo lost 6-0 in their recent league game against Valmeyer (Valmeyer, IL)

In their next game, the Vandals clash with the Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) in a South Central game, on Friday, April 12. Vandalia will attempt to move on its 0-12 season record. The Piasa Birds come into the game with a 7-8 record after their 12-8 non-league loss to Quincy Notre Dame (Quincy, IL).
