The Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC) baseball got by the visiting Central Cabarrus Vikings (Concord, NC), 4-3 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 6-10 record. They take the field next when they host Anson for a Rocky River 2A/3A challenge on Thursday, April 10. Piedmont will clash with a Bearcats team coming off a 13-12 non-league win over Central (Pageland, SC). The Bearcats record now stands at 5-13.

With the defeat, Central Cabarrus drops to 4-12 on the year. The Vikings host South Rowan (China Grove, NC) to clash with the Raiders in a South Piedmont 3A challenge on Thursday, April 10. The Raiders go into the challenge with a record of 11-6. South Rowan won 9-8 in their recent league challenge against Northwest Cabarrus (Concord, NC)
