In Wednesday's non-league game, the host Mt. Zion Braves baseball team scored a close 6-0 win over the Shelbyville Rams.
The Braves (7-1) will now prepare for their contest against Taylorville (Taylorville, IL). The Tornadoes come into the Apollo contest with a 6-0 record. In their last contest, Taylorville got by Argenta-Oreana (Argenta, IL), 14-0, in a non-league contest.
The Rams now possess a 8-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Charleston for a non-league contest on Friday, April 11. Shelbyville will confront a Trojans squad coming off a 5-1 non-league loss to Neoga (Neoga, IL). The Trojans record now stands at 1-6.
